Antique Nouveau deco Era Necklace Pendant Ornate Floral Design

An elegant antique Nouveau-Deco era necklace featuring a pendant with an ornate brass floral design mounting. In the center is a large brass flower with a cascading bouquet of wired faceted carnelian glass stones. Leaves from the large flower curl over the stones. This design with the cascading glass stones was a favorite of the manufacturer, the Fishel, Nessler Company of New York (1885 to 1936). The pendant hangs from an elaborate detailed book chain and connects to the pendant with a cluster of brass flowers. The back of the pendant is signed FN&Co. The necklace measures 17 inches long with a secure spring ring closure. The pendant adds an additional 1-3/4 inches. All the carnelian glass is free of chips and the brass has a rich aged patina. There appears to be a solder on one of the leaves in the pendant, as it is silvered, although we believe it is a silver paint and not a repair. (Description courtesy A. Boyle)
