This is an antique celluloid dresser box late 19th century/early 20th century. The outside is beautifully rendered with embossed flowers, a cherub and elaborate floral designs. The colors are purple, salmon and ecru with remnants of gold paint. The hardware is intact. The celluloid is in remarkably good condition. There is some lifting on the left back under the curve and a bit on the left top edge. The inside is lined with pale blue silk like fabric intact except for a spot where a wooden support on the bottom has been worn through in one place. There is a spit on the fabric that covers the right hinge.

Late 19th to early 20th century, this is a celluloid vanity box containing parts of a set including a small hand mirror, several small round containers and the bottom of a nail buffer. The mirror has a crack in the handle and one around the top inside of the frame, although it is intact. The mirror part is in very good condition consistent with its age. The measurement are approx. 5-7/8 inches high x 10-5/8 inches long x 4-1/2 inches deep. The inside was a soft blue, now faded and soiled from age. The material over the inside hinges is worn. The outside of the box is very attractive with floral bouquets and garlands. The top has an embossed cherub. Overall the celluloid is intact with some lifting on the back top of the lid and a few bits missing around the bottom rim; none is a material imperfection. The hardware works and is intact. Notable is the top lid which is askew about 1/8 inch on either side. This is a great display piece.

This is an antique celluloid vanity box that held a dresser set. The box is in incredibly clean condition inside and out. The measurements are 11-3/4 inches long x 3-3/8 inches high x 5-3/4 inches deep when closed. The metal clasp is intact; inside is clean with the exception of a few small areas of soil, and there is some wear on the silk mostly where the wood supports have come through the fabric. The celluloid is totally present with some wear on the corners of the bottom of the box. The underside of the bottom has all the paper intact with one corner being stained.

This is an antique ebony dresser set with sterling embellishments which are engraved with the “GB” in script. The silver ornamentation is marked “Sterling 925 Fine.” The sides of the brushes are marked “Real Ebony Solid Back” on one side and “Germany” on the other. The brushes are In good antique condition with the bristles intact but somewhat darkened. The lining of the original box has some shredding and soil. There is a doily on the bottom portion in the photo for display purposes. The box measures 10 inches x 12 inches x 3 inches and is in good condition with the silver closure and hinges intact. Late 19th century or early 20th century.

A stunning jeweled powder compact, purchased at Bullocks in Los Angeles, with brilliant, faceted prong-set pastel rhinestones from Evans. It is in excellent vintage condition. The textured gold tone compact measures approximately 3 inches square and is about ¾ inch high. The stones are all intact and shine brightly. The inside is unused and the mirror is in good condition with some faint clouding around the top and edges. It comes with its original box and soft bag from Bullocks. The box has two splits in the corners both in the bottom and top of the box. The bag is generally clean with a few random spots of light soil. Fabulous item for a collection or to use for loose powder. (Bright spots on the photo of the back are reflections of the flash.)

We found this brilliantly colored Shoshone-Bannock hand crafted beaded clutch purse at an estate sale. It is stunning in the brightness of its color. The purse measures approx. 7-1/2 inches long x 4-14 inches wide. Both sides have the same decoration. The inside lining is incredibly clean as well as the outside. There are some minor imperfections. A few yellow beads are missing from one of the top edges, and on the reverse side a small group of 5 yellow beads at the top border has 4 of them missing.

This is a 19th century antique celluloid collar box. It is decorated with embossed ornate flowers, garlands and cherubs. There are also remnants of gold paint. The hardware is intact and the box is in very good condition consistent with its age. With the exception of some very minor random spots under the rim of the lid, there are no chips or cracks. The inside is lined with pale blue material that shows some wear around the collar ring at the top and a couple of ¾ inch spots of soil on the bottom inside of the lid.

This is an early 19th century or early 20th century celluloid tri-fold mirror. Each frame segment measures approximately 8-1/8 inches square. The legs, which are sturdy, each measure approx. 15/16 inches long. There is a metal bow type of embellishment on top of the center frame which has a chain for hanging on the wall. The left panel has a bouquet of roses in the foreground and a faint mountain and tree scene in the background. The celluloid panel is intact with a bit of staining in the upper left hand corner. The back panel is covered with a heavy paper material with some random shallow scratches, the longest of which measures approx. 4-1/2 inches long. The back of the right panel is covered with plain celluloid. There is a tiny triangle of celluloid missing at the lower right corner. The mirrors are beveled and in good condition consistent with their age. The left panel has some random spots in the silvering but is still usable. The center panel has some small areas at the top corners that have darkened, and in the upper right corner there is an approx. 3/8 inch chip in the mirror close to the frame. The right panel is clean with the exception of a darkened spot in the very upper left corner that is approx. 1 inch long The hardware including the hinges and locking clasp are in good working condition. The metal on the mirror is mostly darkened from age. None of the imperfections is material but characteristic of these antique mirrors. This mirror has a great deal of “showability” and vintage charm.

This is a hanging mirror and brush holder. The floral decorations are metal. The velvety nap is decorated with floral elements and is worn thin as is characteristic in these Victorian items. The measurements are approximately 16-3/4 inches high x 11 inches wide. The brushes are worn and the metal tops show wear and have some dents in them. Each brush measures approx. 7 inches long including the loop. The mirror is intact but has some loss of silvering and some spotting. It is still usable. The back has heavy paper (covering the wooden frame) and it is intact. There is a hanger and a metal label stating “Patented March 12 1901.” A great display item.

This is an early 19th century or early 20th century celluloid tri-fold mirror. There is a patent date on the rim that reads “August 7,…” however the year is illegible. Each frame segment measures approximately 7-1/8 inches wide x 9 inches high. The legs, which are sturdy, each measure approx. 15/16 inches long. There is a green man type of embellishment on top of the center frame which has a chain for hanging on the wall. The left panel has a framed oval of a young woman in a bonnet who is carrying flowers. The print is covered with clear glass. The oval frame has some darkening. The back panel is covered with a heavy paper material with moderate random rubs, none of which is material. The back of the right panel has plain celluloid. There is a small triangle of celluloid missing from the upper left corner. The mirrors are beveled and in very good condition consistent with their age; no cracks or loss of silvering. The hardware including the hinges and locking clasp are in good condition also. This mirror must have been sheltered in an attic trunk.

From the 1960s, this is an exceptional Wilardy brand Lucite purse in a light pearlescent beige-tan. The measurements are approximately 10-1/2 inches long x nearly 3-1/2 inches high (not including the handle) x 3-3/4 inches wide. The ornate jeweled clasp closes securely; the purse is clean on the inside. The mirror is full and covers the top inside and is in good condition. It is overall excellent condition with the lightest of wear with no chips, clouding, cracks or odors.

This hand tooled bag is made of medium brown pebbled leather; in good vintage condition with light wear. It measures approximately 7 inches high (not including the strap), 5-3/4 inches wide and 1-3/8 inches wide at the bottom. The stitching on the strap and purse is intact with the exception of a 5/8 inch area on the bottom curve on the left side of the front. The clasp operates properly. The green leather interior is somewhat worn but in overall good condition consistent with its age. The leather shows wear on either side of the fold of the lining on the inside of the purse. There are two small pockets on either side of the inside on which some of the stitching is loose. There is a small mirror in one of the pockets. Both on the inside lining and on the underside of the handle there is an embossed name/trademark which is not totally legible. The front side of the bag has an Art Nouveau/Art Deco design which was somewhat concurrent with the Arts and Crafts style. There is a small dark spot on the upper right side measuring approx. 1/8 inch. The back side has a distinctly Art Deco design. There is a patent date on the frame of this purse that reads “Pat. 10-5-15.”

This is an early 19th century or early 20th century celluloid tri-fold mirror. The length is approximately 14-3/8 inches across. The individual front panels each measure approx. 9-1/8 inches down x 7-3/16 inches across. The legs, which are sturdy, each measure approx. 1/4 inch long. There is metal ornament on top. Also, there is a sturdy chain attached to top of the frame for hanging the mirror on the wall. The back panel is covered with a heavy paper material with moderate random rubs, none of which is material. The celluloid panels are embossed with rustic scenes. The mirrors are beveled and in very good with no cracks or loss of silvering. The hardware including the hinges and locking clasp are in good condition also. Many of these mirrors have patent dates engraved on them, but we cannot locate one on this mirror.

An antique Nippon porcelain perfume bottle. The bottle is decorated with pastel floral designs and gold beading and embellishment. It is a lovely vanity item in good condition consistent with its age with no cracks or crazing. There is characteristic wear to the gold trim on the top and bottom edges of the bottle. There is a small rough spot on the outside upper rim of the bottom, noted for accuracy but not material. The bottle measures approximately 5-7/8 inches high including the stopper and is approx. 2-1/8 inches across the bottom.

This is a rare antique tri-fold travel mirror with celluloid inserts. The mirror measures five inches square in each section. The mirrors are beveled, fully functional and in incredibly good condition with all silvering intact and only a few random scratches. The hardware and hinges are in good condition with one of the hinges at the bottom being slightly out of line. The celluloid on the back panel has lifted along the outside edge; the attachment of which we will leave to the new owner. The front celluloid panel has a woman playing what resembles a lute. The celluloid on the sides of the front panel have some vertical scoring as you can see in the photo. Also, there is a 1-1/4 inch piece of celluloid missing from the top right side. The handle measures approx. 4-1/4 inches long.

This is a Victorian vanity item; either a brush holder or holder for some other personal item. The floral decoration is hand painted. The velvety nap is worn very thin as is characteristic in these antique items. It covers a wooden frame. The measurements are approximately 13-1/4 inches high x 10-1/4 inches wide. The back has a wire for hanging and is covered with heavy paper. There is a split in the paper in several places. The wooden base has a vertical split in it on the right side, which is repairable, but the piece is still intact. There is a label on the back that reads “Patented July 17, 1883.” This is a great display piece.
